Choose an Identity

Does anyone else get a little thrill when they leave a comment and it asks them to "CHOOSE AN IDENTITY" Ok I choose Dorothy Parker, with a little Cat Woman, the original, thrown in and maybe Frieda Khalo's eyebrows. Also as long as I'm choosing, I choose to be one of those mother's I thought I would be back in my smug days, before karma kicked the crap out of me. The kind who only watches PBS and cooks organic meals while making every moment a learning bonding adventure. I am a lot like that if you substitute A House Marathon for PBS and a grilled cheese for organic meals and instead of a bonding moment you hear yourself saying eat your grilled cheese Sophie or mama will turn off that idiot tugboat. (that is a real and shameful comment from me) I haven't' reached rock bottom yet, that comes when you hear yourself saying "but I thought you always like nyquil. But close. February resolution. Choose an Identity, other than mine. Now just to see if anyone is really reading this(my true Friends will leave two or three comments so I don't appear so pathetic, please tell me who you would choose if you could "Choose an Identity" nothing sappy please, like I am just happy being me EEEW. Valerie

  1. ok, go ahead with your EEEW, 'cause I cannot think of someone I would want to be, really. I may want to be different, but still me [like slimmer], I would like to have the courage to glide with those gliding things, and swim with dolphins....things like that, but I cannot think of someONE I would want to be.
I wouldn't mind being an animal, like a seagull [gliding in the wind current], or a wolf, I'd like to be part of a pack, and bark a lot, and howl...

    [who's Dorothy Parker?]
    Love Sophie's photo!!!

  2. I wouldn't have minded being you until the caretaking and the pain started. But I'm way too much of a wuss for that. So I choose this wonderful artist called Swanbones who is very secretive and lives in the middle of nowhere. Or Suzanne of Squash A Penny... Great music choice.

  3. Who would I want to be? I have had a hard day..swearing at the children and my ASS husband for the day..but at the end of the day my heart is hurting for what i wish I was..or could be..a better mother and a more humble not so angry wife..who would that be? Mother Theresa? i loved her..she was fabulous. I just wish I was a person who could not be so hurt..so angry..so controlling....just at peace..sometime in my life when things are hard...coud I just lean on God...people I know are a disappointment..that is just true...PEOPLE cannot fullfill...so there is no one I wish I was...there is me at times I wish I wasn't...i am hurtful, insensitive, angry, aggressive, hurting...who is that person I wish I could be...I don't know her...I miss you Valerie Petersen..you made a difference in my life...I pray not to lose you again..however small...don't go...Love to you Cassie

  7. Hi Valerie, well if I had to choose, perhaps I would be an animal, something catlike, silent, strong and fierce. Not to be too sappy either, but I would like to be that person who is content with self, maintain my peace and joy and reap all that I aspire to be and achieve.

I'm not much of a blogger, but thanks for asking... Debbie

  9. Dear Valerie,
How are you tonight? I'm amazed you are here. How's Sophie, tell me something funny she did today.
I read your mothers service today and your eulogy...and you know you are EXACTLY like her. One of the funniest people I have ever known if not THE funniest. Your mother was an amazing woman...beautiful, so beautiful.

Palmer passed his DMV lerners test today! He drove me home from school a nervous wreck!
My love to you....My pal. Love Cassie

  10. This could work for me, I've always had a thing for Mary Tyler Moore. Come to think of it, since you've been gone for a year, I'd probably settle for Murray!

  11. I don't think I would choose anyone else, maybe just a much richer version of me? Or a cat so I could do nothing but sleep and eat-my 2 favorite things!!
